Hi everyone,
I'm trying to find a 顺心彩票 for an instructional manuscript on how to use NVivo to perform qualitative methods (abstract below). I've tried three different journals (Current Psychology, Psychological Methods, Qualitative Health Research) with no luck (they say its good content, but not a good fit). Any suggestions?
-David
Abstract:
From 1995-2016, there has been a 15-fold increase in qualitative scholarship in the social sciences but the rigor and quality of published work has ranged widely. Little scholarship provides concrete, pragmatic explanation of (and direction regarding) execution of systematic, high-rigor qualitative analysis. The present article guides the developing qualitative researcher through technical and procedural aspects of analyzing qualitative data with specific attention to reliability and rigor. Guidance addressing transcription, importing data, forming coding pairs, performing initial/open coding (examples of three types), determining core themes, systematic team-based coding, maintaining a data audit trail, creating a Numeric Content Analysis (NCA) table, and preparing work for publication is provided. Material includes several tables and figures that offer practical demonstrations of how to use Nvivo in data analysis. Transcription tips and outsourcing benefits and cautions are also offered. Altogether, the present article provides qualitative researchers practical guidance for executing multiple stages of qualitative analysis.

What are the cons and pros of self-publishing of scientific books with Amazon ? Does it worth from the proficiency and royalties point of view ?
Is it important for the author to be highly reputed for the success in Amazon's self-publishing?
Relevant answer
Answer
A publisher/editor friend of mine recently told me self-publishing with Amazon is relatively easy, definitely doable but it takes work. I have published two nonfiction books and easily got a publisher, one within 5 days and the other in two weeks. I have published two fiction books which took months to find a publisher. I just finished another fiction book and am back in the trenches trying to find an agent or publisher.
Because your book is nonfiction, if you have not done so already, I'd tried writing to a publisher. For nonfiction books, generally, you do not need an agent. Look at the publishers whose books you read and use on your topic. There are several helps for writers to find publishers and agents. I like Query Tracker. The basic service is free and the premium is $25 a year. You can set up your search by your category of book publishers you are looking for. Good luck

I wrote Physics in the human body. Lose weight for good and although I helped thousands of people. There a lot of people who follow people of masterchef or follow diets without sense like water with lemon. If it′s a big problem why people dont search for good books?
For example million of people follow con diets or follow any youtubers and dont′t read serious works in this subject. The people must know that there are solution for obesity but they dont investigate the resources.
Relevant answer
Answer
Many people do not understand that obesity is a health problem because so much emphasis is often placed on outward physical appearance. It is true that obesity prevents the human body to function in an orderly and efficient manner. For instance, obesity is a leading cause of heart disease and poor circulation, which then result in heart attacks and strokes. Obesity makes it harder for individuals to get the proper amount of exercise, which, combined with overeating or indulging in too many sweets and high carbohydrates, starts a vicious cycle. Not only is the incentive to exercise diminished, but also when obese persons do try to perform strenuous physical activities, whether exercise or participation in sports, the body is over-taxed, and too much of this wrong kind of stress leads to chronic health problems and even disease.
During the novel COVID-19 pandemic, moreover, obesity is a leading cause for people to contract the disease because the body already was stressed by having to work under the added stress caused by a negative ratio of body weight to the added amount of extra energy required in order to perform normal tasks of daily living. Thus obesity lowers the ability of the body's immune system to devote full attention to defending against the opportunistic invasion of the virus. If the body is kept too busy trying to support the overweight obese body, then, it does not have any reserves, which are necessary when the body is under threat of an invasion by destructive viral agents.
Public health education is underestimated by most peoples and nations because places where people are starving and where there are catastrophic meteorological events are regarded as being emergencies. In other words, in regions of the world where food supplies are adequate or plentiful, it is a matter of each and every individual's responsibility to control their food intake. People have freedom to pick and choose, or, unfortunately, to over-indulge in food-intake. But if there is little or no food, then the issue involves societal moral and ethical responsibility to take action in order to prevent people from dying of starvation.
Usually, the problem of scarcity and starvation involves entire villages, communities, nations, and regions. It is a collective problem involving hundreds of people. In contrast, obesity is considered to be more of a personal problem and to try to intervene might even be considered an attempt to disrespect a person's privacy and freedom of choice. For these reasons, I agree that it is a good idea to enable people, whether obese or not, to have access to authentic books on proper eating habits, healthful foods, and even understandable books about how the body functions optimally when well fed, but not to be limit of obesity, when the situation can shift from good to not-so-good. Whenever people go on a special diet, especially to restore the body to good health by eliminating obesity, it is strongly advisable to begin to having a checkup examination at a doctor's office and to see a health professional on a regularly scheduled basis. Since obesity is a very serious condition that puts people's health at risk, it is best to go on a diet that is approved specifically for each individual. Sudden loss of weight is not good for anybody. A gradual decline is best because a gain-and-loss-and-gain-and-loss pattern is not helpful either. Stability within a normalized pattern promotes good health and requires less stress when a healthy diet becomes a matter of course and part of an overall customary daily routine one maintains automatically.
Best regards and best wishes.

Once I have carried out the research I have to insert not one but more journal articles, books and more (more preprints, more groups of purposes and more groups of hypotheses) as a set of results of research. So, I would need multiple cells to enter the various articles, various books, multiple purpose groups, and multiple hypothesis groups that the research has implemented. You tell me very simply how to do it?
Relevant answer
Answer
I think that it depends on many factors including: where you want to publish? Which journal, the amount and quality of your data, the available funding fees for publication, the philosophy and approach of your work, type of publication( book, preprint, review, articles ) ????. For example, you can decide to publish it one by one cell if you have enough pushisable data per cell lines. Otherwise you can groups the results with many cells lines and publish it.

For strengthening the bonding force with the polymer of the base material, a crosslinkable functional group must be added. In this field, we completed the basic technology for complex development using plasma, ultraviolet rays and special coupling agents more than 25 years ago. Many plasma personnel have not yet developed a comprehensive technology, so only wettability is targeted. However, plasma may have an adverse effect on strengthening bonding and preventing material deterioration.

The final Surface of the organic pigments or dyes are converted to amorphous Silica nano thickness film completely.
To insulate toxic substances ,to remove hydrohobicity and to improve mechanical property , the organic functional groups in the surface layer are temporarily bonded by the organic silicate, and then the silicate forms a homogeneous film without cracking by gentle self-hydrolysis. By electron microscopic precision imaging of the interface, the relationship between the two is that a gradual interface exists with a film thickness of 1 nm or less.

I have been offered to write a book chapter (a well-known publisher). What are the basic differences between a Book chapter and a review article? Is writing a book chapter helpful for a Doctoral student?
Relevant answer
Answer
One major thing to consider is how the effort to write a book chapter compares to other research activities you might pursue. In particular, book chapters usually get less recognition (e.g., citations) than articles in journals. So, if writing a chapter would cut into the time you have for other publications, it might not be the best choice.
Review chapters can be an exception, however, because people are likely to use (and cite) them to keep up with current research. So, if it would appropriate to write a review of recent research for your chapter, that might be a good choice.

Is there a NO corrosion application for a linear polarization resistance? Any example?
And what is the technical justification for using +/- 10 mV as a signal of disturbance in linear polarization resistance? Is there a book that justifies this? Thank you in advance.
Relevant answer
Answer
Dear Dr. Luis Santiago ,
linear polarization resistance (LPR) is a quick, nondestructive testing technique commonly used in material corrosion studies to gain corrosion rate data. For this method the material is polarized, typically on the order of ±10mV, relative to its Open Circuit (OC) potential—the potential measured when no [net] current is flowing. As the potential of the material (working electrode) is changed, a current will be induced to flow between the working and counter electrodes, and the material’s resistance to polarization can be found by taking the slope of the potential versus current curve. This resistance can then be used to find the corrosion rate of the material using the Stern-Geary equation.

How can I interpret the value 0.112.
In many books the partial eta squared is defined as:
the variance explained by a given variable of the variance remaining after excluding variance explained by other predictors.
However, in our results there is only the dependent variable. There are not any predictors in the "test of within-subjects effects" in SPSS outputs.

I think that "Why SPSS makes partial eta-squared as default?", because the test design to remove individual differences in a within subjects . So, I advance you to apply ANOVA package to analysis eta-squared .

What practical steps are you taking to churn out citizens who become knowledge creators instead of merely being knowledge consumers? Once you start creating knowledge; you will have ignited a flame which will only grow (in a seemingly useless life of a student?).
We can employ certain innovative interventions to answer this question; one idea which pops up in my mind is ask your students to write a book! In writing the book, student becomes knowledge creator (he has to come up with new ideas, new discoveries); he becomes his own critic as he tries to defend the arguments he raises?
We dont have to wait for student to reach masters degree to write a thesis? We have lost a whole generation who could have been book writers?
Look forward to your thoughts!
Best wishes,

Hello all,
I am doing a research project and am looking for assistance to determine what statistical test to use (it is five years since I've touched a stats text book, and I can't for the life of me figure it out).
This is my situation
I have pre- and post- test scores for three different students on 7 items.
I would like to compare each individual's post-test score to their own pre-test score to determine if there is a significant difference between the two for each item.
And that's pretty much it. Just want to see if the intervention in between would be considered significant for each individual student.

I was going down this same path a while back. There are a lot of people that use different paths to build up their ML background, but I found Andrew Ng's "Machine Learning" course on Coursera to be a really good overview. I then started on the "Deep Learning and Neural Networks" Coursera certificate, which includes 5 courses that range fill in the blanks for neural network architectures by introducing the different concepts of Convolutional Neural Nets, Sequence Models (Recurrent NN, LSTMs, Attention Models, etc). Where they hit a 顺心彩票 run with these courses is that the first ML one supplements the course with MATLAB/OCTAVE, which virtually everyone knows (if not, there is a tutorial or two that can get people up to speed), and then they introduce everyone to Tensorflow in the second set of courses. Really recommend. Won't break the bank, either - I finished all of these in a month.
Another good one - look at the Alex Amini lectures from MIT's bootcamp. Very good and they have some good speakers, too. Rich Turner, Imperial College, has a good Youtube bootcamp to Gaussian Process Models. Just lots of great content out there online.

Please can some advise on this how much can person quote from an academic paper in a book they are writing with out having to pay for the permission to do so? Can I quote a word for section headings while my explanation is entirely my own?
Can I state that some thing is based on someone's work (from a paper) while putting it in my own words with out having to get permission to mention their work?
This is causing problems as I'm being quoted 85 to 850 euros to quote what amounts to about a paragraph.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Relevant answer
Answer
Hi Nenad,
Having to pay for using a quote sounds a little odd to me. The main issue is usually the amount being quoted i.e. if the percentage quoted is above a reasonable proportion of the original work (around 30%) then that is considered too much.
Rather than quote the work directly, you can refer to the broad concepts or conclusions of the original author and then reference the work as per the required convention e.g. Harvard, so you can use (Smith, 1990) or whatever.
Usually, charges only arise for the use of diagrams, this is because of the work involved in art work and typesetting by the publisher's. Also, it can depend on the copyright agreement between the author and the publisher. This situation varies between a journal article or book.
Best of all, is to do your best to state the concept or key thought in your own words, not always easy, but be sure to reference the author properly and accurately (inc. page numbers for book quotes).
Hope this helps.

In the book by Samko, Kilbas and Marichev is stated that the $\alpha$-Riemann-Liouville fractional integral maps the space of $s$-Holder continuous function isomorphically onto the space of log-Lipschitz functions if $\alpha+s=1$. Can anyone show me an example of function, say $1/2$-Holder continuous for instance, with $1/2$-fractional integral LogLipschitz continuous, but not Lipschitz continuous?
Thanks.
Relevant answer
Answer
For an example of (purely) H?lder continuous function i.e. not necessarily Lipschitz continuous, you can find the well-known Weierstrass function:
Fa,b(t)= sum(k >=1) ak cos(bk t), t in R (the whole line), a<1 and ab>1.
If a=1/2 and b=4, the function F is (strictly) 1/2-H?lder continuous in the sense that it cannot be (1/2 +c)-H?lder for small c. For a detailed proof, please see the attached master thesis (page 16 Example 1.4.3.)
The Weierstrass function is continuous and nowhere differentiable in R. Also it is periodic and then bounded and uniformly continuous.
For $1/2$-fractional integral LogLipschitz continuous, I have no idea.
Sincerely,
K. Khalil

Question

Basically I have one or two very basic queries on temperature dependence of carrier concentration. As per book chapter 14 from the book "Physical Foundations of Solid-State Devices" & also from journal paper entitled "Shallow and deep donors in direct-gap n-type AlGaAs:Si grown by molecular-beam epitaxy" temperature dependence of carrier concentration for dual dopant energy level model (both donor type) at high temp can be described as:
nNDD+= (1/2)*NDDNcexp(-Edd/kT) [At high temp]
-> n(n-NSD)=(1/2)*NDDNcexp(-Edd/kT)
-> n2 - nNSD-(1/2)*NDDNcexp(-Edd/kT)=0 ......................(i)
where, NSD & NDD are the concentration for shallow & deep donor level respectively & Edd & Esd are deep & shallow donor ionization energy respectively.
One of the root of equation (i) will be n=[NSD + sqrt(2NDDNcexp(-Edd/kT))]/2
For high temp (T) regime,
exp(-Edd/kT) >> 1 & also NDD (Deep donor density) >> NSD (Shallow donor density)
Therefore, product of those above two: NDDNcexp(-Edd/kT) >> NSD2
-> sqrt(2NDDNcexp(-Edd/kT)) >> NSD
Thus root of equation (i) can be written as n = sqrt(2NDDNcexp(-Edd/kT))/2
= sqrt(NDDNc/2) exp(-Edd/2kT)
= n0 exp(-Edd/2kT) [at High Temp]
On the other hand, nNDD+ = (1/2)*NDDNcexp(-Edd/kT) can also be written as,
-> nNDD = (1/2)*NDDNcexp(-Edd/kT) [Since, at high temp, NDD+ = NDD as almost
all deep donor atoms become ionized]
-> n = (1/2)*Ncexp(-Edd/kT)
-> n = n0 exp(-Edd/kT) [at High Temp]
Therefore, at high Temperature, carrier concentration as function of deep donor ionization energy Edd can be written as either n = n0 exp(-Edd/2kT) or n = n0 exp(-Edd/kT).
Therefore, my significant query is which one is true for temp dependence of carrier concentration in case of dual dopant energy level model at high temp,
(i) n = n0 exp(-Edd/2kT)
or, (ii) n = n0 exp(-Edd/kT)
Kindly suggest the correct option. Your suggestion will be quite helpful for my research.
For your kind convenience I am attaching the reference book chapters & papers with necessary highlighted with yellow colour.
Relevant answer
Answer
Dear Sen,
If you have two type of doping atoms, one is shallow and the other is deep.
Then you will have two activation energies one is large and and the other is small.
Normally the deep level will play only very small role in determining the the carrier concentration except at high temperature after depleting the shallow levels.
It is so then that the log conductivity versus 1000/T will have to distinct ranges.
One at relatively lower temperature where the shallow donor will be activated after which the material goes into saturation and it will resume the exponential growth again at the higher temperature range.
This what is observed for silicon with one shallow donor and thermal generation from the valence band which mimics the deep impurity levels.
To make the things plausible, let us assume silicon with one shallow donor .
At very low temperature say zero kelvin all donors are neutralized and no thermal generation from the valence band.
If we increase the temperature gradually the the shallow donors will be first start ionizing and electrons in the conduction band results which means an increase in the conductivity with temperature. This process continues till complete depletion of the shallow donors. In this case the deep donors or the valence band electrons as they need high temperature to be emitted from the valence band and so they start emitting electrons appreciably first at higher temperature. So, after depleting the shallow donor the conductivity remains almost constant until the deep donors begin to emit electrons to the conduction band and raise the conductivity further. So, we observe another exponential increase in the conductivity but with greater slope on Log sigma versus 100/T.
I would like that you read my elementary book on electronic devices:
I would like also that you see my paper:
The paper is really of high quality but unfortunately remained with very low citations.
May it will find its luck after longtime.
Best wishes

Dear all,
can anyone recommend a good introduction to demographic modelling in population genetics? I am mainly interested in books but paper suggestions are also welcome.Thanks a lot!

Belinda
Relevant answer
Answer
Hi Belinda,
You may have found many great books and papers since you have been opening the present topic, so I just take the liberty to share a few suggestions here just in case this could be of help for you or anyone else.
This recently edited book: https://link.springer.com/book/10.1007/978-3-030-04589-0 has a Chapter dedicated to demographic inference using genomic data, which present the main coalescent-based methods to reconstruct population histories and infer parameters (I can send you the book in pdf format if you are interested).
Also, Yann Bourgeois and Khaled Hazzouri have published a Preprint ( ) with a review about demographic inference methods.
From a more 'technical' point of view, this book: https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/book/10.1002/9781118180358 provides many examples of forward-in-time population genetics simulations, mainly using the software SimuPOP.
I could also recommend this review from Hoban et al. (2012) about various simulation tools and their use regarding demographic inference : https://www.nature.com/articles/nrg3130
Hope this helps!
Cheers!

How we can calculate K1 value from J - integral result from abaqus?.
K1 value directly from abaqus is reliable? Because its crack initiation criterion is Max tangential stress, Max energy release rate and KII= 0. Which criterion will give correct results? Its depends on problem we handle. Thats I know. But if no value is available for crack initiation criterion ( Also, I introduce crack initially. So its invalid as crack initiation criterion - As of my understanding)
So, K1 value from J integral will give correct results.( I think so). But how we can get K1 value from that?
In fracture mechanics book G=GI+GII
GI= alpha*KI^2/E
GII = alpha*KII^2/E
alpha = 1 , plane stress
alpha = 1-nu^2, plane strain
nu = Poisson's ratio
G can take it as J - Integral?
If we take so, what will be KII?

I'm interested in your opinion. Is it worth publishing a good paper as a Book chapter or select publication in a journal?
Relevant answer
Answer
It is very rewarding to publish your best papers as book chapters. I have received and read through over 500 chapters. Book chapters are not just review articles. It has its own style. Many don't know this. You don't just publish book chapters for citation purposes or to enrich your publication history. Although a well written book chapter can be highly cited than the review or research articles especially when you publish where it can be seen. Again, you will be held accountable for your book chapter tomorrow than your review and research papers. Beginners are not mean't to start their publication life with book chapters. They may regret tomorrow or even destroy their career when they publish things that eventually their students will make mockery of. Book chapters are not meant for babies. Beginners are meant to acquire experiences first by starting with research and review articles until they become subject experts in that field. They are meant for highly intellectual people, skilled, and very advanced scientists that are meticulous and have an image to protect. I have a lot to say, but I need to go back to my editorial work.
Dear Dr. Dr Manzoor Hussain , Isaac Dinaharan , Antje Cockrill I agree with all of you.
